First book starts August 1
Have you ever wanted to join a Bible study or grow in your faith but you were not sure you were quite up to the challenge? Sometimes schedules, busy lives and obligations take hold of us and we don’t commit to the things that we truly want to do. Sometimes we can’t commit to the weekly meetups and sometimes we come up with excuse after excuse to not just go all in. And as a mother of three little ones, I know that sometimes leaving the home for things like prayers groups and bible studies isn’t always an option.
Whether it is fear, busy lives or the feeling of overwhelming, let’s let go of the excuses together and just leap in little by little, to grow a little more in our faith together.
Each month our book club will focus on one spiritual book to help you grow in your faith and prayer life. Because life for so many of us is so busy, this book club will take place from the comfort of your home and will have interactive discussions in our Facebook group. We will try to have one local meetup set in place towards the end of the book for all local readers who want to mingle and have a group discussion. This “book club” is a way for us millennials to find the time to use the resources we have to learn from one another and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.
While online studies such as this is comfortable and easy, I always encourage you to participate in local bible studies and prayers groups when you can as you will take away so much from it.
There will be some off months throughout the year as needed.
Here’s what you can look forward to with our book club:
We will start each new book on the 1st of each month
This is a completely free book club other than the cost of your book purchased by you
The book for the next month will be released no later than two weeks before so you can have ample time to purchase, borrow or rent the book
We will try to select books that are of low cost and easy to grab online or at stores
While this group will likely consist of mostly mothers, this book club is open to all readers - we will not choose just books geared for mothers
Local meetups may take place at the Full of Grace Cafe at Holy Rosary Church towards the middle - end of each book but this book club is encouraged for people near and far
We will have weekly online discussions and questions to interact from the week’s readings - you can learn so much from hearing how others perceive things
At the beginning of the month, there will be chapters “assigned” that will be used for the discussions, but feel free to read at your own pace
There will be questions posted mid-week for us to pray on and think about as we head into discussions
To help us incorporate more of His word - I will post a weekly scripture/reading from the Bible to discuss as well that correlates with the topic/book
You do not have to be of any particular religion to participate - however we may occasionally focus in on Catholic books
Discussions will be posted in the afternoon on Sundays where everyone can drop their thoughts, comments, questions and more - commenting on others’ posts is highly recommended - ask questions, provoke thoughts and encourage others
The group will be open for posting all throughout the month so any member can post whatever pops into their head throughout the week - you do NOT have to wait for the Sunday post to get the conversations flowing - this is highly encouraged!
Please keep in mind that this is a new project that may have some kinks that will need to be worked out as we move along
We will take months off as needed
It is my hope that each month we will read new books to make us think, help us grow and deepen our prayer life. We can inspire and encourage each other on our walk towards eternity as we grow in our faith. We are all broken and trying to navigate the roads, the busy life and for many of us, the trials and triumphs of motherhood. Together we can keep each other motivated to tackle each book each month as we share new ways to grow in our faith and deepen our love and intimacy with our Father.
I hope that you find comfort and peace from this, but I hope that we all RISE and grow in our faith.
