Spring Mantel

Spring (Easter) is my second favorite holiday to decorate for. It's just so fun, colorful and simple in so many ways. The sunshine after a gray winter, the blooms after the bare trees, and the resurrection after the tears...all of it is just a sign of a fresh start to me.

With this being our first Easter in our new home, I wanted to decorate our mantel and jazz it up for the kids. My oldest daughter appreciates and adores holiday decor. Luckily for me, I had a stash that didn't require me having to go purchase anything new. When people tell you to purchase holiday decor on clearance AFTER the holiday -- well, those people are really on to something!

As usual, most of my decor comes from the Target Dollar spot (all of the wooden signs and the wooden bunny banner). The beautiful bunnies are gifts from my mama and we have a few sprinkled throughout the home; and the egg wreath you see is from Kmart years ago. We also have a few cookie jars in the kitchen that are from you guessed it, Target.

Really, Target should make me their go-to blogger if you ask me! ;)

I enjoy keeping it simple for the holidays. I don't like to go over the top with anything and simplicity is my jam. Find treasures that speak to you, that you adore and use those. Go antique shopping and find some vintage bunnies (that would be so fun) or head to Target and check out their mix of modern/vintage looking decor.

If you have little ones at home, I have learned that it truly doesn't take much to get them excited about the holidays. Just a couple of little items and they will be giddy as can be! Top your Spring decor off with baby's breath or fresh flowers, a good wreath and lots of sunshine!

Get outside and plant something. Get outside and run in the yard with your little ones and enjoy this season. Put out a few beautiful bunnies or your favorite bible verse and celebrate this beautiful time with your little ones.

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
